Denver Nuggets Release Injury Report for Game 5 against Los Angeles Lakers
Jamal Murray Listed as Questionable
Nuggets Hold 3-1 Series Lead
DENVER — The Denver Nuggets have released their injury report for Game 5 against the Los Angeles Lakers, and star guard Jamal Murray is being listed as questionable. Murray suffered a minor leg injury in Game 4 and did not return to the game. He is considered day-to-day and his status for Game 5 is uncertain. Nuggets coach Michael Malone said Murray is devastated after being diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Murray is expected to miss the remainder of the season and his availability for the start of next season is also in doubt. The Nuggets hold a 3-1 series lead over the Lakers and they may well advance off that fact alone. However, the loss of Murray would be a major blow to their chances of winning the series. Murray has been a key player for the Nuggets this season, averaging 18.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game. He is also one of the team's best defenders. If Murray is unable to play in Game 5, the Nuggets will likely start Monte Morris in his place. Morris has been a solid contributor for the Nuggets this season, averaging 9.9 points and 2.8 assists per game. The Nuggets and Lakers will tip off Game 5 at 7:30 p.m. ET on Sunday night. The Nuggets will be looking to close out the series and advance to the second round of the playoffs.
