Jannik Sinner produced a stunning comeback on Friday, rallying from two sets down to defeat Daniil Medvedev in the Miami Open semi-finals. The 20-year-old Italian, who has been in red-hot form this season, overcame a slow start to ultimately prevail 4-6, 2-6, 7-6(3), 6-2, 6-2.
Sinner's Resilience Shines Through
Medvedev, the world No. 2, looked in complete control after racing through the opening two sets. However, Sinner showed remarkable resilience to fight back into the match. He broke Medvedev's serve in the deciding game of the third set and never looked back, powering through the final two sets to secure a memorable victory.
Sinner's victory marks the first time an Italian has reached the final of a Masters 1000 event. He will now face the winner of the other semi-final, featuring Stefanos Tsitsipas and Andrey Rublev, in Sunday's showpiece.
