Bengals Quarterback Joe Burrow Ruled Out For The Season
NFL Investigation Concludes Cincinnati Bengals Quarterback Joe Burrow's Season-Ending Wrist Injury Was Legitimate
Investigation Finds No Evidence of Foul Play or Malicious Intent
March 4, 2024 - The NFL has concluded its investigation into the season-ending wrist injury suffered by Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and has determined that the injury was legitimate and not the result of foul play or malicious intent.
The investigation, which included a review of game footage, interviews with players and coaches, and a medical examination of Burrow, found no evidence to support the conspiracy theories that have been circulating online since the injury occurred.
“We have concluded that Joe Burrow's injury was a legitimate football injury and that there was no foul play involved,” said NFL spokesman Joe Lockhart. “We are confident that the Bengals will be able to overcome this adversity and make a run in the playoffs.”
The Bengals are currently 7-8 and in third place in the AFC North. They will need to win their remaining three games to have a chance at making the playoffs.
Burrow, who was the NFL's Comeback Player of the Year in 2023, is expected to make a full recovery from his injury and be ready for the start of the 2024 season.
